Unique Stockbroking franchise opportunity in India

Dear Patrons, Times are changing! The traditional way of doing business by old-school stockbrokers has been proven unsuccessful in the last few years as a result of industry consolidation among the top players, rising compliance costs and falling brokerage rates. The rise of online stockbroking (a.k.a discount broking) has disrupted the old-school stockbroking franchise model (sub-broker based expansion model) adopted by traditional brokerages which relied heavily upon physical expansion of branches across geographies to increase their business. They have been shutting shops on a wide scale. To understand the real impact, take a look at the figures below.

Time Period Sub-brokers Decine (YoY)
FY-2012 77,141
FY-2013 70,242 9%
FY-2014 51,885 26%
FY-2015 42,351 18%
FY-2016 >36,848 13%

We understand the complexities involved in this model and have something completely different in store for you.

Thank you for the good writeup. I much prefer your model than any other broker. I am currently a sub-broker of Sharekhan, can I become with Fyers too at the same time?

Franchisee is a broad term. A sub-broker / Authorized Person is a type of franchisee (relevant to stockbroking)

Yes, you can. As long as you’re in a legal profession, you can be a sub-broker / Authorized Person. Btw, Authorized person is the new norm.
